Bond hours are back

Minor sports don’t run without support! The bond program exists to encourage all families to become actively involved in the operation and success of the league, and to balance the workload for our volunteer executive members and coaches. Bond hours can be completed by helping out at practices, scorekeeping, volunteering at WBMBA events such as the bottle drive/BBQ or end of year celebration, washing team jerseys, etc.

Bond hours process for 2023

All families are expected to complete 10 bond hours over the course of the season. If the only WBMBA player in a family is in the 6U division, that family will only need to complete 4 bond hours. At the beginning of the season, team managers will collect a $100 cheque from each family. All bond cheques/cash will be returned at the end of the season if bond hours are completed.

If you have players on two or three different teams, you only need to provide one cheque. If you are not able to provide a cheque, please provide your team manager with $100 in cash. Players will not receive their uniforms until bond fees are received.

Team managers will be responsible for team communication and for bond hour tracking. Each team manager will receive a folder to track their bond hours, and will check in with the WBMBA throughout the season to provide updates. Families who have a team manager, coach or assistant coach do not have to complete additional bond hours. Each team (9U and above) will also have a uniform manager who will collect jerseys after each game and launder them. This role will cover the bond hours for that family.
